Strawberry Jam & Prosciutto Grilled Cheese

If you follow me on Instagram then you know that we were in Florida last week and I got this AMAZING strawberry jam, goat cheese, and prosciutto grilled cheese from a food truck in Seaside and OMG IT WAS SO GOOD. Naturally, I came straight home and had to recreate it. Delicious french bread loaded with creamy boursin cheese, strawberry jam, and prosciutto then fried up to melty perfection! Sweet, salty, and cheesy… you cannot go wrong with these strawberry jam & prosciutto grilled cheeses!

Prosciutto Grilled Cheese

You could use 6 large slices of bread with the same amount of the other ingredients to make 3 larger grilled cheeses. Cook time would be slightly longer.

INGREDIENTS

  • 12 slices small to medium French bread or 6 large slices.
  • 5 oz Boursin cheese
  • 6 slices prosciutto
  • A healthy pinch of salt and pepper
  • Cooking spray

How to Make Strawberry Jam & Prosciutto Grilled Cheese?

Step 1:

Spread boursin cheese on one side of all the slices of bread then top each slice with 1 tbsp of strawberry jam. Fold prosciutto a few times to make it the same size as the bread then add it to 6 of the slices then sprinkle with salt and pepper. Top these with the non-prosciutto pieces.

Step 2:

Heat a skillet of medium-low heat then coat the pan with cooking spray. Add all the grilled cheeses to the pan then spray the top switch cooking spray. Cook for 2-4 minutes on the first side or until the cheese is starting to melt and the bread is golden. Flip the sandwiches then cook for an additional 2-4 minutes on side two. Enjoy!

What to Enjoy with Strawberry Jam & Prosciutto Grilled Cheese?

The Strawberry Jam & Prosciutto Grilled Cheese pairs so well with creamy sides, that I would suggest Purée Garlic Potatoes to have with it. For drinks, I love it with a Herbal Citrus Gin Spritzer to bring strong herbal flavors that mix so well with the sweetness of the jam and the saltiness of the prosciutto. Other choices that I would have next time are balsamic roasted Brussels sprouts, arugula salad with lemon, butternut squash soup, or a fig and walnut salad.
