Refreshing Herbal Citrus Gin Spritzer
It’s Friday which means cocktail time! And this herbal citrus gin spritzer is quick, easy, and refreshing.

I have a husband who is obsessed with gin cocktails, and every Friday, he wants something different. So this time, I made a refreshing Herbal Citrus Gin Spritzer. Before I made it, I was sure he would love it, and that’s exactly what happened.
I made this Herbal Citrus Gin Spritzer using basil leaves. Since it’s an herbal cocktail, it has natural herbal flavors that make it unique and delicious. I also used lime juice, herbal simple syrup, and Hibiscus La Croix. The drink turned out amazing, and maybe I’ll make something similar next Friday.
INGREDIENTS
- Basil leaves: These make the drink smell wonderful and give it an herbal taste.
- Lime juice: I use it to add some tagnesses.
- Maple syrup: This makes the drink a little bit sweet, but not too much.
- Herbal simple syrup: You can buy it or make it at home.
- Gin: This is the main alcoholic ingredient.
- Grapefruit bitters: These give the drink a fruity taste.
- Ice cubes: For refreshing.
- Hibiscus La Croix: To add that fizzy light fruity flavor.

How to Make Herbal Citrus Gin Spritzer?
Step 1:
Add basil to the bottom of a cocktail shaker then gently muddle until the leaves start to release their juices. Add lime juice, maple syrup, and herbal simple syrup to the cocktail shaker then muddle until you’ve extracted all the liquid from the basil leaves. Finally, add in the gin, grapefruit bitters, and several ice cubes then place the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake until it becomes cold, about 1 minute.
Step 2:
Strain the cocktail evenly into two cocktail glasses then top them off with hibiscus la croix. Garnish the cocktail with a few extra basil leaves and lime slices then enjoy!

We enjoyed our Herbal Citrus Gin Spritzer yesterday with a delicious dinner of Italian Sausage & Burrata Flatbreads and pureed garlic Potatoes on the side. The refreshing citrus and herbal flavors of the drink made the meal even more enjoyable and delicious, This spritzer also pairs well with lemon herb chicken, goat cheese honey crostini, or shrimp ceviche, and even pasta dishes like lemon garlic linguine.
