Italian Sausage & Burrata Flatbreads
It’s no secret that I love using naan as flatbreads, but these Italian sausage & burrata flatbreads might just be my new favorite.

They are loaded with sweet & spicy Italian sausage plus summer’s finest gems, aka tomatoes and TWO types of mozzarella… shredded and burrata (YUM). Not to mention they are also topped with fresh garden basil… I mean, if this isn’t summer bottled up in one pizza, then I don’t know what is!
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground Italian sausage – For me, this is the main ingredient.
- 4 slices naan – This works as the flatbread base for the crispy crust.
- ½-¾ cup canned crushed tomatoes – Provides a simple sauce.
- 1-2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese – Melts great for a gooey texture.
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes (halved) – Adds a juicy, sweet bite.
- Healthy pinch salt and pepper – Enhances overall flavor.
- 8 oz burrata (4 burrata balls) – This creates a creamy topping.
- Freshly minced basil – This adds tge fresh finish.

How to Make Italian Sausage & Burrata Flatbreads?
Step 1:
Preheat the oven to 400F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2:
Brown the italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat until no longer pink. Make sure to break it up into small bits using your cooking utensils.
Step 3:
Place two naan on each of the prepared baking sheets. Spread 2-3 tbsps crushed tomatoes on each naan, leaving a ½ inch border sauce-less as crust. Top the crushed tomatoes with a healthy amount of shredded mozzarella then a ¼ of the browned italian sausage and a ¼ of the halved tomatoes then repeat with all flatbreads. Finally, sprinkle a healthy pinch of salt and pepper over top then bake the flatbreads in the oven until the cheese is melted and naan is golden, about 15 minutes.
Step 4:
Remove flatbreads from the oven. Break one ball of burrata up into 4 pieces and then place the pieces randomly on one of the flatbreads. Repeat with remaining burrata and flatbreads then sprinkle some freshly minced basil over top of each then slice and enjoy!

Kitchen Equipment Needed
- Skillet – For browning the sausage.
- Baking sheets – To hold the naan while baking.
- Parchment paper – Prevents sticking.
- Spatula or wooden spoon – To stir the sausage.
- Knife and cutting board – For slicing cherry tomatoes and basil.
What to Enjoy with Italian Sausage & Burrata Flatbreads?
Italian Sausage & Burrata Flatbreads are so satisfying, and there are plenty of other meals you can enjoy alongside them. Simple, crispy roasted vegetables like zucchini pair so well. Also, a Caesar salad or hummus as a side is good, too. I love them too with a cup of refreshing smoothies like Strawberry Mango Pineapple, which adds a nice tropical sweetness to the meal.
My husband always goes with a classic tomato and cucumber salad with dishes like this. I don’t know why, but he loves this salad with any kind of dish, and he really enjoys the combination. And don’t forget the garlic bread, as this bread always has a place on our table.
