Easy Prosciutto Cups
This blog should really be called Appetites Anonymous’ Appetizers because I freaking LOVE APPETIZERS (and alliterations). These pear, goat cheese, & caramelized onion prosciutto cups are one of my favorite appetizers to date.

I know I say that a lot, but they just hit so many flavor points… savory prosciutto, sweet pears, and creamy spunky goat cheese, and then we have caramelized onions that bring it together and enhance all the flavors
I brought these to my family Christmas party, and they got destroyed. They were honestly gone in about 7 minutes. SO if you do make these for a holiday party, I’d recommend doubling the recipe!
OH, also, these prosciutto cups are super eat to make! All you do is bake pieces of prosciutto in a mini cupcake tin, then fill the cups with caramelized onions (great tutorial here), diced pears, and crumbled goat cheese!
Now, caramelizing onions does take a little bit of time, but it doesn’t require much work… just patience and stirring! You can do it, I know you can!
INGREDIENTS
- 1/4 cup caramelized onions (ingredients and recipe below)
- 6 oz prosciutto slices, sliced into 3rds lengthwise (yielding three 1 ½ by 2-inch rectangles per slice of prosciutto)
- 1 pear, cored and diced
- 3 oz goat cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- dried rosemary
Caramelized Onions
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/2 yellow onion, peeled and sliced thinly
- healthy pinch of sea salt and black pepper

How to Make Prosciutto Cups
Step 1:
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Step 2:
Caramelize your onions: Melt butter in a saucepan or deep skillet over medium heat until sizzling. Add onions and cook until translucent, about 1 minute. Add a healthy pinch of sea salt and black pepper to the onions, stir to combine, reduce heat to medium-low low then cook the onions for 20-25 minutes (stirring occasionally) until they turn brown and start to crisp up on the edges. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 3:
While the onions are caramelizing, place one prosciutto rectangle in each cup of a mini cupcake tin. Bake at 375°F for 10-15 minutes or until the fat turns golden and the prosciutto is crispy. Using a fork, remove prosciutto cups from the mini cupcake tin and transfer them to a paper towel to absorb excess grease.
Step 4:
In a small bowl, combine diced pear and lemon juice, then stir to combine.
Step 5:
Assemble: Fill crispy prosciutto cups with a slice or two of the caramelized onions, a crumble of goat cheese, and 1-2 pieces of diced pear. Garnish with a sprinkle of dried rosemary and enjoy!

WHAT TO EAT WITH PROSCIUTTO CUPS
When I make Prosciutto Cups, I feel like I’m serving something fancy to my family, even sometimes, I will toast slices of baguette and top them with my favorite goat cheese.
I love putting out a small bowl of marinated olives, too, as a side dish. And when we’re extra hungry, I always make simple crispy potato tacos, everyone loves them.
