Wait… this isn’t a DIY blog? Uhhhh, yes, it is! When you cook… don’t you do IYourself?! I think so. And today, we are making popcorn seasonings ourselves! Not just your average popcorn seasonings, either… super fun and flavorful ones like ranch, Mexican, herbal, Asian, spicy curry, and smoky BBQ!!!

So many flavors!! Sounds awesome, right? I know. I agree.

DIY Popcorn Seasonings

Now, one of my main reasons for making these adorable DIY popcorn seasonings was to put them in cute little spice jars with tags and give them to friends/hostesses! I still have yet to do that… BUT… It’s on my to-do list… tehehe.

Last thing, you know what’s extra cool about these popcorn seasonings? Well, when you take out the word popcorn… they become just seasonings! You can whip these up and store them in your spice area, then use them to season all kinds of things like tacos, pasta, chicken, fish, red meat, sandwiches, roasted veggies, etc!

Isn’t that awesome?! I KNOW.

How to Make DIY Popcorn Seasonings?

Step 1:

Measure spices in a small mixing bowl and whisk to combine. Transfer the mixture into a 4-ounce spice bottle and label appropriately. Sprinkle over popcorn or other foods as desired!

Step 2:

Mince spices together in a mini food processor to make them extra fine before placing into the spice jar… this way they will stick to the butter-y popcorn more easily! Mine, as pictured, are not minced – just an FYI.

WHAT TO EAT WITH THIS DIY POPCORN SEASONING?

As a mom of two snack-obsessed kids, I’m always experimenting in the kitchen, and this DIY Popcorn Seasoning has officially become our go-to.

I skip the precise measuring, just a sprinkle here, a dash there, and somehow it always works out (except that one time I went overboard with cayenne and we had a coughing fit mid-movie night!).

I love using Tajin instead for a tangy kick. It’s also great on roasted veggies or even eggs. I usually make a big batch and keep it on hand for busy afternoons.

When we need something more filling, I bake a batch of Dried Fig Oatmeal Muffins, a perfect sweet-salty combo with our popcorn. For more snackable fun, we also love to try sometimes Maple Cinnamon Chickpeas, and Everything Bagel Roasted Almonds. Totally, they were a hit every time.
