Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground chicken
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 jalapeño cored, seeded, and minced
  • bunch fresh cilantro leaves minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric
  • ½ tsp yellow curry powder
  • healthy pinch salt and pepper
  • ½ tbsp olive oil or cooking spray
  • 4 brioche hamburger buns
  • romaine leaves and sliced red onion for serving

for the maple tahini sauce:

  • 2 tbsps tahini
  • 2 tbsps lime juice
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp warm water
  • 1 tsp dried ground ginger
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • healthy pinch salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine ground chicken, minced garlic, minced jalapeño, minced cilantro, cumin, turmeric, curry powder, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl then mix until well combined. Form mixture into 4 equal size patties then place on a plate in the fridge to chill for about 15 minutes.
  2. While the patties are chilling, make your maple tahini sauce: Whisk together all sauce ingredients in a measuring cup until smooth.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once oil is hot, add the chilled patties then let them cook for 5-7 minutes on side one or until golden then flip and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes on the second side or until cooked through.
  4. Serve curry chicken burgers on buns topped with romaine lettuce, red onion pieces, and maple tahini sauce!
