2 weeks and 4 days…
…until Brady Baby’s due date!
This so far as been the hardest thing about pregnancy… THE WAIT. I’m just so excited and anxious because like will he or she come early or late or what?! I’m currently in the time frame where the babe could literally come whenever and it’s driving me crazy haha! Every weird movement or feeling I get, I’m like “is this it!?”… I keep joking that I’m going to go into labor and not even realize it (all my friends with children have assured me that I’ll KNOW when it’s time ha!). So while I’m over here waiting like the impatient crazy person that I am… I decided I might as well distract myself with some blogging.
These tropical smoothie bowls are everything to me right now. I’m currently at that stage of pregnancy where I get full super fast because this babe is taking up crazy space in my stomach so smoothies are where it’s at. Especially these tropical smoothie bowls because we’ve got frozen bananas, kiwis, pineapple, and yogurt all blended up into a delicious and healthy treat!
Soooo before we get to the recipe… can we talk about the color?! OMG SO BEAUTIFUL. It’s blue spirulina powder which, not only adds a fabulous blue color but also has great health benefits like offering a ton of nutrients, being an antioxidant, having anti-inflammatory powers, among other awesome perks.
Ready to get your tropical smoothie bowl on?!?! LET’S DO IT.
TROPICAL SMOOTHIE BOWLS
Ingredients
- 4 peeled and frozen bananas, sliced
- 4 kiwis, peeled
- 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks
- 2 cups plain greek yogurt
- handful of ice
- 2 tsps blue spirulina powder
- toppings for bowls: fresh blueberries, apple slices, granola, honey
Instructions
- Combine bananas, kiwis, pineapple, yogurt, ice, and blue spirulina powder in a high-speed blender. Blend on high until smooth! If mixture is too thick, add a little water, one tablespoon at a time until reaches desired consistency. Divide smoothie between bowls then top blueberries, apple slices, granola, and a drizzle of honey.
Are you going to try these tropical smoothie bowls?! I really think you should!! Also, do y’all want another preggo update before the babe comes?! I think I might do one last one this week or next and include all my pregnancy favorites + all the freezer meals I plan on making this weekend/next week. I’ll also do a full post on our nursery once it’s finished >> just waiting on some artwork from my mom.
