I’ve got two kids now so easy dinners are a must… and this sesame steak stir fry hits the bill! Not only is it super easy but it’s loaded with flavor and has a great ratio of protein to carbs to veggies!
This fabulous stir fry comes together in less than one hour and has got some pretty great ingredients like sesame, maple and soy marinated steak plus basmati rice topped with sauteed slaw and red bell pepper. Simple yet delicious! Exactly what I’m looking for when it comes to family dinner! Hope you enjoy!
sesame steak stir fry
Ingredients
- 2 tbsps maple syrup
- 2 tbsps low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsps cornstarch
- 2 tbsps toasted sesame oil
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- healthy pinch salt and pepper
- 12-16 oz top round steak thinly sliced
- 1 cup dry white rice cooked according to package instructions
- 2 bunches green onion sliced into 1-inch pieces
- 1 package dry coleslaw mixture
- 1 red bell pepper; cored seeded, and thinly sliced
Instructions
- Add maple syrup, soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, ground ginger, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to a large ziploc bag the shack to mix up. Add steak strips to the bag then shake again to coat the steak. Let marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Cook rice according to package instructions.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Once the pan is hot, add the contents of the ziploc bag. Cook steak for a few minutes on each side then remove from the skillet while the middle is still slightly pink.
- While the pan is still hot, add the green onions, coleslaw mixture, and red bell pepper then saute until veggies are soft, about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add cooked steak & rice back to the skillet then mix and remove pan from heat and serve!
