Okay, so remember when I said this wasn’t going to turn into a baby blog? I PROMISE THAT IS TRUE.
But SO MANY of you have asked how I’m feeling, if I have bump yet, what workouts I’m doing, what I’m eating, etc, etc, SO I decided to put all these answers into a little post aka a [decaf] coffee break tehehe. If you’re here for food, come back tomorrow for the most delicious toffee shortbread cookies everrrrr. And if your here for a preggo update… here goes nothing!
First Trimester Update
How am I feeling?
Guys… I feel like I hit the preggo lottery because my first trimester was super duper easy. Other than my boobs doubling in size (TMI I know lol), I barely even felt pregnant to the point that I almost forgot a few times… like I didn’t get nauseous, I never felt tired, I had no cravings (though I was really hungry!)… basically, it was the easiest first trimester ever based on what my friends, the internet, and my OB have told me ha. I probably shouldn’t say this though since I’m basically jinxing myself whoops… BUT I’m now 2 weeks and 3 days into my second trimester and I still feel great! Fingers crossed nothing changes.
Do I have a bump yet?
Maybe kinda?!?! I had some typical pregnancy bloat in the evenings after eating all day but in the morning my tummy looked pretty normal up until the 12 week mark? Below is me at 6, 12, 16 weeks! I do feel like the 16 week shot is a bump?!?! What do y’all think?
Do my normal clothes still fit?
YUP. All my clothes still fit, jeans are a more snug than normal but that’s to be expected. I feel very grateful that my normal clothes have lasted me this long. That being said, I do normally wear looser clothing (other than pants) like flow-y dresses and leggings or tights so it makes sense that all my stuff still fits. I have already purchased a few maternity dresses from ASOS but they are really just more flow-y dresses that I would wear normally!
How am I staying active?
Y’all know I’m a big runner so I’ve kept up my running game while pregnant and I plan to throughout my entire pregnancy if I can/I’m allowed. I also do incline walking with weights when I don’t feel like running plus HIIT some days! Working out has definitely helped with the bloating and everything!
What am I eating/craving?
I’M SO HUNGRY. LIKE ALL THE TIME. That’s actually another thing that made me feel pregnant in the beginning. Definitely no morning sickness and all I wanted to do was eat. I gained 7 pounds in the first trimester (9 now total) which is a little more than recommend but my OB said since I’m starting on smaller side that I should gain at least 35 pounds in total so that 7 pounds in the first trimester isn’t that bad actually? We shall see >> all I want to do is eat, whoops! No cravings yet, I don’t think?! I’m still eating healthy with a few sweets here and there because ya know tehehe.
Baby registry? Nursery?
Registry is all set! Nursery is all planned out (we’re going with a celestial theme), just need to buy a few pieces of furniture and some decorative pieces. Tom’s parent’s bought us our crib so that’s all put together wooo!
Gender? Names?
SO we are waiting to find out the gender of Baby Brady at birth >> biggest surprise ever! My friends and family think we are crazy but Tom really wanted to wait to find out and I didn’t care either way. I will say that I’m like 95% sure it’s girl! As for names, we have the girl name 100% decided on and we’re between two for the boy name. We’re not telling people our name ideas since we are only going to use one name and we want to save the other for our next baby (hopefully!).
Today’s status: As I mentioned above, I’m 16 weeks and 3 days today and I still feel great. I will say that sleeping is becoming slightly more difficult since I’m a back sleeper and you’re not supposed to sleep on your back… I got one of these pillows and I start sleeping on my side but then I wake up on my back?! How am supposed to stay sleeping on my side?! Help would be appreciated. Anywho, my tummy is bigger than normal and I’m hoping my bump officially pops soon! We’re going to Hawaii at the end of March so I’m waiting to see if I’ll need to buy new clothes?! I did buy a few larger swimsuits and stretchy shorts just incase!
